Born and raised in Kentucky, Missy Tippens moved to Atlanta, Georgia, for graduate school and promptly fell in love. She is a pastor’s wife, the mother of three adult children, and an author from near Atlanta, Georgia. She loves being involved in their church through the Music Ministry and particularly loves singing in the choir as well as being a ringer for their handbell choir.
Now that she and her husband are empty nesters, they get to spend more time together and look forward to visits from their grown children. (They also like to find excuses to go visit them!) She feels blessed to be a caregiver for her mother and fills the rest of her days with writing.
Missy is a former clinical microbiologist who took up writing while she was a stay-at-home mom. After more than 10 years of pursuing her dream of publication, she made her first sale to Harlequin Love Inspired in 2007. Her novels have since been nominated for the Booksellers Best, Holt Medallion, American Christian Fiction Writers Carol Award, Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence, Maggie Award, Beacon Contest, RT Reviewer’s Choice Award, and the Romance Writers of America RITA® Award.
In addition to novels, Missy writes devotionals for Guideposts Books which have appeared in All God’s Creatures, One Minute Daily Devotional, and Strength and Grace Magazine.
She’s very thankful God has allowed her to continue on this writing journey.
